are we talking raw denim? I've read soaking removes any excess dye.

 • Fill tub with lukewarm water.
 • Add a small amount of laundry detergent. I recommend Woolite Dark for minimizing indigo loss.
 • Place jeans into bath tub turned inside out if you prefer. Move around in water to loosen up any dirt and grime.
 • Rinse jeans with clean water until soap is gone.
 • Hang to air dry

Any clothes that you buy should not bleed excessivly. if it does, it is a defect and you should return it. The clothing industry is at fault for many of the cheap crappy stuff on the market but if you only paid $10 for a pair of pants, one would probably at times expect that. However, if you pay a lot of money for something that is leaking dye, that is dishonesty of quality on the manufacturers's part.
