haha I was just going to say that.

That's the Nano, fine.

The 14G regular Ipod:

Same size as current Ipod, thickness of the Nano, 1TB flash memory, Windows drag and drop PLEASE.

With storage at 1TB and it using Flash you wouldn't have to worry about compression, Wav ftw!

What I want is the ability to:
-sort albums by year
-display year of album
-the possibility for sub-grouping albums

why? I have about 50 grateful dead cd's on my iPod... some are from two different box sets, some are re-releases with other sound quality, some are from a series of live releases (dick's picks). now I resorted to having four band names - grateful dead with the appendix of both boxset names, no appendix for the 'general' releases, and another appendix for the live releases.

but it's still not sorted by years... if you have full discographies, this info would be very welcome

replaceable battery (not necessarily AA). must super quick charge and last at least 20 hrs with screen off.
no colour screen, black and white.
optical out
no dongle
no video
no fm
no clock
no microphone
no calendar
no notetaking thing
monkey audio, flac, alac, wma lossless
ability to play with cue files as playlists, like a cd.
ability to do ABX.
all silver plated connections on board, plus all female jacks to be audiophile grade
decent hp out
super decent line out, from mini, not from dongle
drag and drop
complete id3 tag support, incl other languages
super quick interface, no need to wait for list to load
no led lights, except for power and maybe a white backlight against the BW screen
gapless
easy to setup playlists on the fly
no eq.

COME ON, i betcha patick82 would buy one of these. would be a best seller to true audiophiles who care about SQ over looks :p
everything built to milspec. bulletproof too.
