I've tried the mod where the foam is inside the gray silicon sleeve and I cannot achieve a seal. It's mostly due to the tough and dense nature of the tip in which it cannot contour to your ear canal. I went back to the hollow silicon sleeve and I'm now achieving that ear popping seal again. Nice mod though. But I'm afraid the mod is only selective to certain ears.

This mod did achieve better isolation with gray silicon sleeves on my UM3X, but the signature tight sound of silicone sleeves changes into boomy sound that is associated with foam sleeves. So might as well wear famies for that better isolation.
Nice idea though
