A few mth. ago, I replace my Sony mdr-V900 headphone jack to a replacement jack.

But 2 mth. later, the surface (coating) of the jack has wear off, and the headphone gives those fuzz sound upon contact.

What are the criteria for a good headphone jack?  OR even better, what website do you go to buy a high quality head phone jack?

Generally the gold will be worn off from gold plated jacks, though that depends on the thickness and components of the alloy.

well, the 1st jack is from Sony, and that jack last  10 yr.  This jack is just a generic jack, and it last 2 mth.  Redco.com price is about the same on  a lot of those stereo jack.  IF there is nothing better, then I'll go w/ Redco
