Very, very thick. Also hard to bend. They will pick up a light amp/source because of their stiffness. They are so massive, that I have heard stories of them actually breaking the RCA jacks on a source/amp. And this was only the RCA connection, the XLR is twice as large. The RCA's are already the widest cable I have used by far, and the XLR is basicly 2x as big.
That said, im dying to find a used Master/Revelation in XLR. I really like Virtual Dynamics cables.
EDIT Also you need about 6" to make a bend after the RCA connection. If you need to push your amp/source right up to the wall, Virtual Dynamics are not the cable for you.

Hey Chef,
I have a few questions that I have not been able to find out from your website. I know Virtual Dynamics cables are custom made to order so does this mean a customer could get any length they needed? I would think this would be optioned on your site like other custom builders but then I thought maybe shorter lengths might be against your philosophy of design or something? Shorter PC cables, etc. Then I remembered reading some believe certain length cables (mainly digital, I think?) give optimal sound at say 1 meter and above and so they would stay away from something shorter based on their sound goals for the cable? Do you guys think cable length effect sound? Also, it appears that you use a type of proprietary VD termination's for your PC's and Interconnects, etc.? Is this also part of your build philosophy? Why? I'm just curious why you might have gone this route rather then using some third party products? Thanks for your help.
I'm curious as to why VD doesn't cable cook the Master series like their website says they do? Some people like their cables to be conditioned before they buy them and is one reason they might choose your cable after reading the info on the VD site. They don't like to wait a week or two to hear how the cable is going to shape up.
You should either make sure you cook them before they go out, or remove that part of the sales description.

A paperclip?? No, sorry, I don't think so. The Master LE 2.0 is fairly easy to bend also, but in no way like a thick paper clip. Their interconnects are much easier to bend than the power cords though.

YES SIR!
Na yours wasn't cooked because it was mine that you won from me. If it is stated to be cooked, it's cooked.

Ok, now I'm confused. You told me you made it but that it needed burn-in and wouldn't sound good initially. If it was yours, wouldn't it have had use on it? And it doesn't have an "R" on it, so I wouldn't think it was used (and you didn't mention it was used).
And the primary reason I mentioned that was because you also told me George's power cord wasn't cooked and that in your opinion didn't need to be cooked. In addition, he didn't think the speaker cables sounded better than his other ones which were 1/3 the price until they had 7 solid days of burn-in on them. I told him to stick with them awhile longer, but he actually was going to sell the Master 3.0 speaker cables for another brand but didn't when the salesman pissed him off by calling him at 6:30 a.m. to give him prices. I told you he was particular.
But I don't blame him. I would be too if spending that kind of money on ANY product.
With that said, the digital cable still sounds great. I've probably put about 80 hours of burn-in on it.

The the powercords, took 48 hrs to have a normal sound. More than that, I am not sure at all to have heard a real difference.
For power cables I think it depends on the equipment. My Yamamoto HA-02 does react to the better cable. I hope my Lavry will react in this same manner and I have reason to think that it will. For both the Yamamoto and Lavry units others have noted how sensitive these units are to higher quality cables and ICs. These cables for me have allowed my base components to be all they can be, so to speak.

Our cables are made to order. You can get your cable made to what ever length you need, just as long as it’s above the standard. I think the only cables we will build shorter are the Basic and power 3.
The reason we don't go below is due to the optimal area needed for our dynamic filtering, and the precise magnet placements.
All our current terminations are 3rd party. We use Cardas on our innerconects. Hubble, WattGate, and Furutech on our power cables.
But, I think we are currently disigning our own custom terminates.

I'm a bit uncertain of the phenomenon with our cables unrelated to burn-in, but the time to synergize to systems. I wish I could explain but I'm just too uncertain to publicly state anything. You can take a 3 month old cable out of your system, let it sit for a few weeks in a closet; when you go to plug it back in it will sound different.
