Only ~1000 but I am already planning to work more hours next semester to finance my next set of cans, another amp, maybe a pair of ESW9s. I'm sure that the amount of homework I do won't suffer at all.

I would not be surprised if some around here have spend $100,000 on their headphone system (sources, amplifiers, headphones, cables, ..). An amplifier can set you back $20,000+, a source (CD transport & DAC) $40-50,000, a headphone $10,000, ...

Here is one mans setup, from 3 years back. As an example:
