How many jazz albums are in your music library?

I never really got into mainstream jazz, I own one nice compilation CD.

However, I just started listening to Jazz Fusion in the last couple of months and I'm really starting to enjoy it. 9 mp3 albums.

I have about 30 Jazz albums and 400 smooth fusion albums,I moved from RnB about 11 years ago and never looked back. I consider that most of my collection is instrumental Soul and RnB and no where near as intricate as material issued from masters such as Davies and Hancock.

If you don't have it already, I highly recommend getting the album Duke Ellington- Blues in Orbit. The title track alone is well worth the price of the album. I recently got this album on vinyl and it's an awesome performance and an excellent recording.

So far I've got...

By Miles Davis
Kind Of Blue...Of course...
Bitches Brew
Sketches of Spain
Birth Of The Cool

By John Coltrane
My Favorite Things: Coltrane At Newport
A Love Supreme

By The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Take Five

It's getting bigger ever so slowly...

All on CD because it's cheaper and convienient, although I'd like to someday buy a turntable and start up a vinyl collection

If those jerks outside the club in SF hadn't broken inside my car and stolen my 200 album CD case of discs , basically my whole early years collection, and I hadn't been stupid enough to forget to leave it at home when going to visit MLWTTKK, which is industrial, but they define it as Dirty Dirty Bump Jazz, then I'd have more levity in buying music: it wouldn't come down to : are you going to re-buy classics, get new untested stuff, or are you going to get stuff that WAS on your wishlist, or what about stuff that IS on your wishlist!! GAH the humanity!! a full 200 CD's !! THAT SMARTS!!

Don't I repeat, DON'T leave that many CD's locked up in your car. Period. Ever. Period. X2. Times Infinity. ^ Forever. The show was fun, but not worth the heartache. I got upset over it just this morning and it happened 8 yrs ago.

I would TRY more Jazz and other stuff is what I mean to say, Its just... decisions decisions...
