Yep, this has risen from the dead.

Funny, I noticed that I have about 1/2 the number of amps I had in 2004.

Wow, it's amazing how many different types of headphone amps out there. Currently I have five amps:

Koss ESP/950
Total Airhead (old gold label kind)
cmoy
Z-Audio Lambda
PA2V2

But I really want to give a listen to tube amp sometime in the future and Zemo's home headphone amp if he ever built one in the future.

Hmm I have the Melos SHA-Gold for Dynamic, the Stax SRM-1/MKII for electrostatic, and an AE-1 for portable. I guess the Marantz is one too through the headphone out, but that's rarely used. They are all my fave for their purposes, except the Marantz, which is really there for a speaker amp.

Two --

* JMT-Built maxed transportable Pimeta (currently powered by an external 16-cell NiMH battery pack) - dual OPA627s on L/R, AD8610 on ground.

* Headsave Go-Vibe v2 (hacked to work with dual-9v batteries mounted on the outside of the case) - AD8620.

Plenty enough for me, I see no likely upgrading in the near or mid term. The Pimeta in particular is very musical, mates well with all my cans and is semi-portable so I can easily move it e.g. between turntable and CD sources.

Just one for now: AE-1 but will probably get a GS-1 for powering high impedance cans once I get them.
