How many computers do you currently own? Describe all of them: Brands (hardware is optional), OS's, purpose of usage (game, media, work, ...)
 
Here is mine:
1. MacBook Pro 15'' (early 2011) core i7, running Snow Leopard. I mainly use it for my daily life: surfing, music, movie, photo editing, programming,...
2. Lenovo Thinkpad X61s, running windows 7. Rarely use it after I've got the Mac. Though, I bring it around my flat because it's small and light. 
3. Home server, Intel atom ITX desktop (built by myself), running Ubuntu Server. It is my home server which is used as a NAS, media (upnp) server, web server, torrent client...

1, brand is Self-Assembly. I use it for everything you would regularly use a private computer for, i.e. gaming, music, surfing, downloading, chatting, gathering information, illegal and/or morally outrageous activities, in no particular order. I got Win 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.

22'', it pleases me. Certainly there are better screens to be had, but I seldom play fast-paced ego-shooters so reaction time isn't that important, and the colours are just fine for me.

I don't run any demanding programs and use my Xbox for gaming so I don't need powerful computers.
 
1.  Dell Zino HD: I wanted something small so it wouldn't take up too much deskspace.  Bad specs, but I got it at a ridiculously good price.  I use it mainly to surf, IM, and music.  Runs Windows 7 with a 24 and 19 inch monitor.
2.  Dell Mini 9: Great for throwing in my backpack and so I can view PowerPoints or notes for class.  Runs XP.
3.  Thinkpad X61s: Don't really use it anymore because I got a netbook.  It also got a crack near the hinge a couple months ago.  I take it on trips because of the large battery capacity.  Runs XP.
 
My Xbox also uses the 24" monitor.  So when I game, I have my Zino HD displaying on the 19" so I can still see IMs and surf between games.

-DIY Server Running minecraft haha. Running ubuntu linux it has 1.5GBs of ram and a P4 processor with an 80GB hdd haha. 
 
and about 9 other computers in the house that are not mine so don't count but if I counted everything that connects to the wifi (including portable devices) it would total around 16 devices.

Too many. In regular use is a 2.0GHz Core2Do white MacBook, a 1G iPad 32GB/3G, and an Athlon64 2.0GHz Linux box.

I have another Linux box (Opteron) that I need to bring online.

Aside from that, I have a couple of old SGI boxes, a NeXT Cube and slab, and about a dozen old Macs, including a IIfx and a SE/30. Also an old IIgs.

I hang onto these for nostalgia. 20 years ago, I lusted for a NeXT Cube and a IIfx. Now I have them. The plan is to hang onto them (and the other old boxes) until they become collector's items. That might sound silly, but it wasn't too long ago when vacuum tubes were written off as worthless. Give it another 20 years and I'm hoping these will turn a nice profit.

Ohh my. Don't tell me you have a couple of SGI O2 octanes? At work we are pulling the plugs and surplussing all of our SGI's (multiple O2's, Onyx2 Reality Monster's, and Indigo's). Good riddance

I have a SGI Indigo and an Indy.

The cases are pretty cool. I don't know if they'll ever be collectibles, but modding modern boards into them would be fun. My storage space is free, so I'm thinking about hanging onto them for another 20+ years.

You never know, everyone wants stuff, then they throw it away, then then want it again.

What haunts me is all the tube gear I passed over in the 1980s. I've been going to the W6TRW swapmeet in LA for close to 30 years. If I had bought the cheap "unwanted" stuff back then, I'd be close to retirement today.
