The dangerous thing for me is that, the better the headphone rig, the louder I tend to listen, because so many of the common distortions are now gone, and I can listen louder and longer. The longer part is all good, but louder can be problematic in the long term.

With open headphones I usually can most of the background noise and if someone is trying to call me.
With closed or IEM I can hear someone but they are muffled out by the isolation and music.

looks like im with the greatest of numbers. i can hear someone talk, but i cant understand unless i take the cans off.

unless its a song i really like, and id rather not hear anybody, i make it so i can hear jack crap, and the housings of my headphones shake.
