How loud do you listen to your music?

9 o'clock on both my amps. Don't know how loud that is in dB, but I don't think it's really loud. For some songs I'll stretch it a bit but the RS-1 becomes fatuiging at high levels. The DT770 is loads of fun though at higher levels.

Out of -63db, I usually listen to -10db at max depending on the material. That nearly 90% of maximum volume. It is moderately loud though. My room is big, a little bit dead and so it needs more power. Its a passive pre-amp too.

But the manufacturer claims he listens as high as -3db for some Tchaikovsky. Even the reviews put down levels of -8db for some listening sessions.

No congestion or clipping though, ever

On my millet driving my 580's, the pot goes up about a 5th of the travel. On my amp driving my speakers, I'm at about 1 to 1.5 out of 10.

I find that I end up listening quite a bit quiter than most people, and at live bands and clubs I find the volume obscene and painful.

Very quietly => AKG K701 being powered by a PinkFloyd modified X-Can V3 and using a Little Pinkie. The volume is set between -62 dB and -70 dB.

For those that do not have an X-Can V3 there are 16 markers above the minus infinity (equivalent of zero). So I am at the 1.5 marker out of 16.

HeadFive -->> K701
normal listening @ 8:00 to 9:00
LOUD listening @ 11:00 to 12:00

I am curious about the readings at these settings, may have to pick up or borrow a db (SPL) meter.
