Just bought a radioshack SPL meter. Found out that I usually listen below 70db. How loud do you listen to your headphones?

How much do one of those meters cost? I'll pick one up today and post results if the thing isn't too expensive.

Soundboy posted a reply to my WTB ad in the for sale forum, he said that some local radioshacks are having a sale on the old analog spl meters for ~$15. I couldn't find any at any of my local radioshacks. So went for a digital one, which is $50. There is a new analog one that goes for $40.

Quite convenient. Ever since I got my Grace 901 amp, I was really afraid of hearing damage with such a powerful amp. Now with this spl meter at hand, I don't have to anymore

(I will always check to make sure the sound is below 75db).

I actually found that when the room is quiet, especially at night, I usually listen at ~65db.

depends, i listen to stuff pretty loud. not retardedly loud, like high school kids loud, but about 85db id say. when im at home its low though, normally about 50-70db.

but the cicadas are out too, so right now its about 70, to drownd out there noise.

Just tested mine. Around 70 decibels, with peaks of around 80 decibels.

usually pretty low(10 o clock on pot), exept those damn cicadas make me go upwards of 12 on the same recordings.... stupid open senns

Listening to headphones at high volumes gave me tinnitus, so now I listen quite quietly. Beware, tinnitus is not fun.

Plenty loud - 85 to 95 dB max. But only for max. 1 -2 h a day, and not every day.

Anyone have a stock RME PAD, a pair of Senn HD650's, an SPL, and Foobar to determine how many dB's -36dBs with Foobar's volume control is with the RME volume at its max?

On headphones, not very loud at all. In my car listening to the stereo, I like it loud! (not headphones in the car, mind you)
