So I've been using some Shure e2c's for the last 4 years or so, but the cord is cutting out and I need to repair them or get a new pair.  I'm curious how big of a step up say the 425's or 535's or something equivalent would be from where I'm currently at?  I use Sennheiser HD 580's for my over the ear needs around the house, had them for the better part of 2 decades.  Can the 425's or 535's compete or even sound better than the HD 580's (especially in the bass category)?
