How do you pronounce denon?

More or less how I pronounce it, with perhaps a slight emphasis on "deh." I actually didn't think it could be pronounced any other way (then again, I never even considered "grah-doh" for years because I just assumed it was gray-doh).

I also pronounce it de-non. De as in the start of 'dead', or close to how the French would pronounce it.

Edit: I also pronounce Grado as gray-doh. I seem to remember reading somewhere that those from the area around New York tend to pronounce some words closer to how they would be in English. Not that a New York accent is anything like a Received Pronunciation accent, but still closer than other parts of America (eg, having a distinction between Mary, merry, and marry which is lost in most of America).

Yup.

But when i called for tapedeck service 15 years ago, the lady who answered the phone (in alabama or something) pronounced it Tea Ack.

I pronounce it like the wood as well.
