Well now I started putting my portable buds in the case all the time and I feel alot better about it

This is what i do as well. My left jean poket is reserved for my mp3 player and earphones.
Only thing i am worry about is dropping the earphones on the floor and possibly stepping on them (that happened to my Audiotechnica CK7) and break them.
Hopefully that will not happen to my IE 8

I can pack my SoundMAGIC PL30 into the Hardcase, which is included in the accessory. Good shape and easy to carry.

my PFE come with a very good nilon pouch to carry my PFE, spare filter and tips
my IE7 come with a case that I can store the earphone, cleaning tool and 2 extra pairs of tips.
that is what I use to carry my IEM if I didn't hang it over my neck
