I use a Musical Fidelity X-CANV8P. They are a match as the X-CAN has tons of power to drive the relatively insensitive AKGs and both major on detail and midrange. The soundstage and scale of sound achieved is the best I have heard anywhere with headphones.

The original X-CANS is very capable as well. It primarily looses in soundstage and depth of detail.

I blindly ordered the Woo Audio WA6.........I hope it pairs well.

A MOSFET-MAX, V1.2 and a simple BantamDAC with Black Gates on the output. Sounds bassy, detailed, and rich.

The DAC used is the BantamCableDAC connected through the RCA inputs. The onboard Bantam with the Vishay-Roedersteins didn't sound too good with the K701's - too lean and light.

I switch between the Darkvoice 336i and a Singlepower PPX3-6SN7. Both sound very good to me with perhaps a slight edge to the Singlepower.

Disclaimer: Although I have not had problems with mine in the 2.5 years I've owned it, some Singlepower amps do have issues. A search will give you more info.

I use headroom's ultra micro. The crossfeed is perfect for those off-days when you just want to sit back and enjoy the flow, instead of the detailed analytical routine.

I drive my 702s with a Woo WA3. Go together quite well. Prefer it to my modded DarkVoice 336SE.

I use mine with a HeadRoom Ultra Desktop Amp powered with the DPS. They seem to pair very well together since I'm not hearing many of the weaknesses that are described in these phones.
