I place them on a Sennheiser Pleather cover before going off to sleep and when going to college i fold my HD600 and put them inside the same cover so they dont gather dust or get damaged by dumb maids cleaning the room.

I just put them on the shelf or nightstand.

Only the K-1000 sleeps in its box.

I put them down somewhere that they aren't likely to fall off. If I leave them alone long enough dust does tend to settle on them.

I put them on top of my dresser, with the cups on top of a beanie to prevent damage from the hard wood surface.

I put the headphones that i regularly use on a headphone stand and put a plastic bag over it to keep dust from settling on it. The ones I really treasure and rarely use, I put in a nice big dry box that is free from moisture and dust.... A bit too much perhaps?

Multiple ways, depending on 'phone and if its in use that day or not.
* SR-007BL and 4070 -> In their aluminum flight case, or on the Stax stand below a dust cover.
* SR-404 -> In a cloth bag, or on the Stax stand below a dust cover.
* K1000 -> In its wooden box, or on the designated stand (see below) below a dust cover.

My HD 580 Jubilee and HD 650 live in the original box.

My HD 25-1 are in a Sennheiser bag as pictured in the first post.

I have several HD 250 which also go in bags as above.

I have about 20 other headphones of various ages and quality and these are all together in a carry bag (don't use them much, they are just for musician listening on recording sessions).

my HD580s are on a banana stand for the moment... once i get my desk back (currently under a tarp while the room it's in is being redone) they will hang on a plastic spring clamp which is clamped onto one of the shelves

my EH2200s are in a box in my garage

the following are all sitting together on top of my gunsafe
my PX100s are kept folded in their case
my E888s are kept in their case
my ER6 are coiled up in their little pouch sitting next to my Fiio E3 and my PA2V2
my JLab J2s are coiled up sittting loose

the following are in a drawer
sansa buds that came with E280 coiled up in a tiny zipseal bag
rebranded sennheiser buds that came with iriver ifp-895 coiled up in a tiny zipseal bag
my extra J2s from the bogo still sealed in their box

and my EX71s are in their original packaging in a bubble mailer on their way to their new owner
