How do the Edifier e25 Luna Eclipse compare to Audionengine A2s?

Well I was surprised this morning with a pair of e25s so thats this question answered! Haven't had time to have a good critical listen yet but god damn they are swift. Bass starts and stops on a dime, also if you put a gun to my head I would swear some kind of room correction was going on. One thing is for sure they have made everything I've tried on them so far sound amazing.

Glad you like them, they are a very good speaker and look fantastic too! Coming from someone who has heard both, you aren't missing out on anything by going with the e25's.

I still can't get over how fast and well integrated the bass is on these things. Why aren't passive bass radiators used in desktop speakers more often?

Mainly because they require aggressive volume compensation at lower volumes to achieve a proper bass response. I found the e25s to sound very anemic at low volumes though Edifier might have addressed the DSP in later models. They also don't quite have the extension of active bass drivers though they can get surprisingly close in a smaller housing and at a lower cost.
