Comfort is perfect in broken in bowl pads. They feel great around my ears.
How comfortable is Alessandro MS-1?

They're comfy enough, especially with the stock pads. As stated previously, bend the band to your preference, and they'll be fine. I think they're better as home headphones, and they're not quite comfy (or tough) enough to sleep in.

what way do you bend the headband?

As for comfort, ive only ever owned a pair of hd270s(we all make mistakes in youth lol) and the ms-1s are nicer to wear because of the comfie pads that come with them, not to mention the sound is like 10 times better ![]() So basically, they arent as bad as some people make em out to be, they just rest on your ears as opposed to around your ears as in larger headphones which some people might not like, but personally i dont give a frog about it. Buy em and enjoy! |

I'm using the Alessandro MS1 with bowl pads instead of the comfies.
My ears used to become sore after wearing the RS-1 with bowl pads for about 30 minutes. Now, I don't feel much at all, and can wear them for longer periods of time. I did bend the headband slightly.
It took about 2 weeks of usage before I became comfortable with the bowl pads.
I think it helps if your ears lie flatter on your head; "Mickey Mouse" type ears may be less tolerant of bowl pads.

I love reading stuff like this. I hope the John Grado interview clears some stuff up about comfort, like the bending headband thing being ok since it's solid metal. Even Joe Grado gave the nod to do this, and wrote instructions on it!
It's the bottom right pic, the 4th diagram. They show you that bending the headband to relieve pressure = good!

Follow the diagram - start in the middle and work your way out.

Don't go too loose or you'll lose some of the bass impact. Otherwise, enjoy!

Yeah, that's why I don't like bending the headband.

I actually had a better k/d ratio with the MS-1 after gaming with HD650s for a few months. Maybe my ears are just weird, but I could hear more details of whats going on around me with the MS-1s. The HD650 just sounded too distant. I played Enemy Territory with them, the game I have been playing for 3 years now.
And yes, they are very comfie, much more so than the Sennheiser earmuffs IMO

The Grado sound probably helps set the right mood for FPS gaming. Nothing beats the "on-the-edge-of-your-seat" feel!
