Not sure where to post this, so mods feel free to move.

Basically, my current Pioneer amp is stuffing up, I keep getting 'Amp Err' and it dies.

I am looking to purchase a new amp, I currently have a basic 5.1 setup with AudioClub speakers.

Let me know what some good brand/model numbers are

Thanks

How much do you wish to spend? What features do you want (to be able to play lossless from blu ray etc ....)

If you're not using blu-ray there's no real point in a 7.1 system (as as far as I remember dvd's only have 5.1, with maybe a handfull of 7.1 titles but none that i've come across).

As for an amp, a price range is still kinda neaded. If you want many, many responses this post may be best in a home theatre website. I personally use the logitech z5500, which are great bang for the buck (and I only use them for movies).

Congrats on the new amp.

But the old one sounds like it might be overheating. You ought to pop the top and blow all the dust out of it. You might be surprised how much dust is in there. Even though you have a new one, you might get a few dollars for the old one or pass it along as a gift.
