I decided against buying a Move or iBasso D1 or any type of combination amp/dac. I'll be buying a EMU 0404 USB DAC next week and I'm looking for an amp to go with it. I want it to be portable / not huge and I'll be using it with my RP-21's most of the time and MS-1's at home. Whatcha think?

Edit: I would like to keep the price below $250 total, so the budget would be between $100 and $150.

My opinion: the EMU 0404 USB is supposed to have a good built-in headphone amplifier and the cans you mentioned are not very hard to drive, so save your money for the time being and enjoy the music!

Hmm.. Yeah I've heard that too. Well then how about this: Would an amp like the Mini^3 be worth the money as an upgrade from the built in 0404 amp?

The Mini^3 is very good indeed.

An amp is definitely going to be bought for a portable setup, so just using the 0404 amp is not really an option. Mini^3 has been recommended quite a bit to me and, as of now, it is what I will be getting.
