When I got home today, my mother had recently walked in the door, and I saw a rather large box on the kitchen table. She made a passing comment about it being for me, and I had noticed she picked up a few LPs from a local shop (The Hi-Fi Exchange if you must know, they are in Amherst, NH, also sells stuff on ebay). So she went on about how great the shop was, and how all kinds of stuff that was in decent shape for $1 an LP. I got her to open up the big box...

The big box was full of LPs, in fact this huge compilation of classical music by Time Life, it covered the vast majority of the major composers, Shostacovich, Bach, Mahler, Schubert, Haydn, and many, many, many more. The thing is, the entire thing is mint! There is an index booklet, which is about sixty pages long, about 80LPs in total, and they are all MINT and they all have the included booklets which described each era. Absolutely amazing!
The entire collection, all mint, with nothing missing!

Wow, really nice. I'm not a fan of LPs, but that's quite a great present.

Yep. I was so excited I forgot to say it was indeed "The Story of Great Music".

I have all 15 volumes of it. Suddenly classical music went from 5% of my music collection to 20%

.

Someone on Antiqnet is selling the individual volumes in "good" condition for $40 each. At his prices, this set is apparently worth $600, but I am not selling it.

Oh. The price she paid for it? $35!

And the place she got it at dosen't have a website, but here is their address and phone number:

Hi Fi Exchange, (603) 595-0456, 141 State Route 101a, Amherst, NH 03031

I will look em up tomorrow, I am having a hard time reading through the index to find the conductors, as they aren't listed next to the composers, it will take me a few minutes to do
