I just looked at my Gentooplayer menu and in the Enable/Disable Software section it said "HQPlayer Embedded: NOT INSTALLED"
Now I'm not a HQP user anymore but I wanted to check.
So I guess Embedded is possible but not from the start? An option?
So I guess I would need to run the HQPlayer OS on my desktop or laptop where I make all the upsampling calculations and then find my HoloRed as a Network Audio Adapter (NAA) then to DAC.
If I could ENABLE HQPlayer Embedded in Gentooplayer then both those actions would be done in the HoloRed, both upsampling calculations AND HoloRed acting as NAA.
Is that all correct?
Remark: is Raspberry Pi4 a good enough computer to make the upsampling calculations? I found an article saying YES.
https://www.superbestaudiofriends.o...on-a-pi4-invigorate-your-digital-audio.11231/
But...
Is it not mandatory to alleviate as much as possible computer tasks in the Raspberry computer for sound quality?
So its not just a question if it can, but what are the trade offs if you do?
I had the impression Gentooplayer was great because of the minimal computer load, correct me if wrong please.
If so.. it would be advised to make all the upscaling calculations in a destop or laptop computer running HQPlayer OS there, so not using HQPlayer embedded in Holored.
Only to use the HoloRed as an NAA for HQplayer then to DAC.
This is what I think but please chime in if I have it wrong somehow or needs additional thoughts, thanks
