I’m wondering is there any improvement in sound by adding holo red to my burson conductor gt4? It doesnt have i2s input, only usb, toslink and optical

It's gonna be quite a noticeable improvement vs a PC. Make sure not to skimp on the USB-C cable too. I recommend Audioquest Diamond USB-A to USB-C cable between the Red and your Burson

Thank you, so do i connect USB in from PC then USB out from red to conductor gt4? Because i thought we cant use usb in and out at the same time?

No. You use Red as a network transport with the PC being the source/server instead of it being a DDC

Best way to get diretta is get Gentooplayer OS for RPI5, in there it's easy to install diretta host or target.

about CM5, I have confirmed.
I asked Jeff if the Holo Audio RED can be upgraded to the CM5.
He mentioned that it is not possible, as the RED is not compatible with the CM5.

Unfortunately, Jeff did not provide additional details regarding the incompatibility.

I have compare rpi4 vs rpi5 using gentooplayer, rpi5 sound much better than rpi4.

using gentooplayer doesn't change the functionality of the Red, just how you wish to set it to function as. If you have another Target in the chain, that will means you want to use the red as host？which will work too.

On your sig, what's the purpose of the LMS UPnP on your RP4B if the RPi5 can already function as UPnP hub and diretta host on its own? I could just use Jplay and target the RPi5 skipping the RP4B right?
