Did someone try the Holo Red with Musician (Pegasus) DAC via I2S? Is it compatible? Thank you!
Thank you. It’s ON when (pure) DSD is playing.
Unless you’re using DOP, the DAC has no way of knowing that the bitstream it’s receiving is PCM or DSD.
Are you sending pure DSD? Or DSD in a PCM package (DOP)?Thank you.
But I am already feeding DSD native signals to Red + Cyan 2 via I2S with the I2S_DSD_OFF. The Cyan 2 can recognise the signals coming from the Red is DSD. Do I still need to tur the I2S_DSD_ON? Will it make the DSD playback even better?
And how about the I2S_MCLK, how does it affect the sound??
In my HQP setting, it is "none" under SDM pack, so I assume it is "pure" DSDAre you sending pure DSD? Or DSD in a PCM package (DOP)?
I tried Balena Etcher on Windows and MacOS too, i couldn´t get alternative OS like MoOde or Roopie to run, Led is red all the time.I don’t get MoOde playing, my SD created via Balena Etcha is working but I cannot access the renderer configuration to change to MPD and add Qobuz.
For what it's worth, I was never able to get RopieeXL to work on my Red. The Red would boot and I could connect to the RopieeXL web interface but never could get it to play music. I'm currently using piCorePlayer/Squeezelite on the Red and it works and sounds great (LMS is running on a Pi4b on my network).I tried Balena Etcher on Windows and MacOS too, i couldn´t get alternative OS like MoOde or Roopie to run, Led is red all the time.
Hi, have you compared sound quality vs RedOS? Does it sound better? For what it's worth, I was never able to get RopieeXL to work on my Red. My Tidal Connect is fine with the HoloRed. But of late I had deep trouble with Spotify Connect it went bonkers. No restart or re-install could solve. But a factory reset of my modem/router was solution. Might be worth trying?I hope this wasn’t covered already, but…
Is anyone having lots of issues with Tidal connect? I’m running the stock OS and latest firmware. The Red is in performance mode. I went from a glitch every now and then to a glitch every time I use my Red.
-if I force close the app, I have to restart the Red to get Tidal Connect to work
-if I let an album finish and there is a gap between the album/song ending and selecting another song/album, I have to restart
-sometimes I can’t connect from the jump. As soon as I open Tidal to start a listening session, I connect/get music playing
-recently, my iPad will allow me to select my Red for Tidal Connect, but my iPhone will not.
The glitches are cleared every time I do a software or hardware reset, but I don’t want to have to do that every time I want to listen or mid-listening session. I leave the Red on all the time, as it seems it was designed to do.
Excellent this. Thanks. I’ll try that today. My Tidal Connect is fine with the HoloRed. But of late I had deep trouble with Spotify Connect it went bonkers. No restart or re-install could solve. But a factory reset of my modem/router was solution. Might be worth trying?
