kudos to honest people.I can never answer these questions
I don't regret buying the master but everything sounded good before and still does now. I find "remembering" sound quality to be challenging.

I have the same issue and am thinking to stay with the same original fuse on the KTE. Im happy with the sound but what made a difference was going to occ interconnects. They made such a large difference that I will never buy just regular interconnects again.I can never answer these questions

There's no change in sound quality. The change was made to allow for 1.536Mhz PCM on non-intel sources. If you have an intel PC, or you don't use HQPlayer, then it doesn't matter anyway.
Hi,
I must ask again for better understanding.
If I use e.g. the Holo Red, or an RPI4 with Jussis NAA image to use the HQPlayer for upsampling, I need the Titanis version 2.1 for PCM 1536Mhz?
Yeah for 1.536mhz on anything non-intel (including Raspberry Pi, that's ARM based, not Intel), you need version 2.1 else it won't work reliably.Hi,

You can do 768khz fine though

What a luck that I still noticed before I ordered.
However, both the devices from Magna HiFi and Kitsune all have only the 2.0 version installed - do i have to order the 2.1 board separately?

You can contact your dealer to request an order for the upgraded board, not sure how much it costsWhat a luck that I still noticed before I ordered.

Under Downloads/Links:
"Post Aug2021 KTE Spring3, L2 May and KTE May come shipped with Gen2.1 Enhanced USB Module."
So the product description is simply not updated.

Thanks for the info.
So one more question:
If I use I2s connection, 1536Mhz is possible, no matter from which source, e.g. Pi4 or Holo Red?
So one more question:

I mean, of course the source must support 1.536 MHz over i2s, which the Holo Red does. The RPi4 does over USB, but I do not know of a single RPi4 hat that supports i2s at 1.536 MHz.Thanks for the info.

The May can accept 1.536Mhz over I2S, there are currently no DDCs that support that rate as an output. Thanks for the info.

There are limitations to keeping things stable at rates that high with external I2S and so it's unlikely we will see any 1.536Mhz I2S sources anytime soon.
RED does not support 1.536Mhz over I2S for the above reason, it COULD technically do it, but Jeff chose not to cause it'd just cause constant frustrations for users when the playback stopped, turned to static etc.I mean, of course the source must support 1.536 MHz over i2s, which the Holo Red does. My mistake, RPI4 of course only via USB.
But I have now also found the info on 2.1 at the european Holo reseller:

You're right, my bad. I do remember though reading this on the Magna HiFi product page for the Red:The May can accept 1.536Mhz over I2S, there are currently no DDCs that support that rate as an output.

Note: Future release will support up to DSD1024 / 1.5Mhz on I2S HDMI output.
It's still there as of today.

Strange, Holo Audio models have all gen2.1 usb hardware nowadays. No reason to order separately. Why do you think it is gen2.0?What a luck that I still noticed before I ordered.

@GoldenOne - I met you briefly at CanJam SoCal this past year. I told you in person, but I want to re-iterate that I really appreciate your reviews and now also your insights here with the Holo May. I'm thinking of getting one, potentially this year, so all of it is helpful.
On another note, this band popped up for me one day on Instagram and I thought - this singer looks so much like Cameron, ha! Just had to share.
