I'm looking for some decent earbuds for the gym, skateboarding, snowboarding, and biking in the under $100 range. Not interested in IEMs.

The main things I'm looking for, in order:
1. Sub bass extension
2. Balance
3. Treble extension
4. Comfort
5. Detail/clarity/control

Kind of like the earbud equivalent of my ATH-M50s. Soundstage is not important to me at all for these.

So far it sounds like the HiSoundAudio PAA-1 Pro and the Apple Earpods are both good options. I've read a decent amount about both, but I haven't really been able to find anything comparing the two. I'm guessing the HiSoundAudios are more balanced and clear. But how do they compare in extension at both ends? How noticeable is the mid-bass hump of the Earpods compared to the PAA-1 Pros? Which buds have more controlled bass?

Also, are there any other good earbuds that meet my criteria that I've overlooked?

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

i think the PAA-1PRO are a good earbud for outside activity.
i dont know if you mind some sound leaking in, i have no problems with that.
sometimes you can react better to the "outer" world.

as a junior headfier i havent heard such a quality with other stock earbuds.
only stain is the comfort,
people say that its one of their strengths but i think they hurt after 30 minutes.
maybe i got strange ears..
