The whole point i was trying to make was that the new Big K.R.I.T album is way less conscious than his previous albums and is pretty much a throwback southern album.. meaning that it sounds like tons of southern music created before krit. Yet it will be considered dope and fresh by the same people that hated southern music not to long ago.

here's a stream of the new KRIT album. im sure anyone thats a hip-hop fan has already heard it though since i came out 3 days ago and thats like 3 weeks in the internet world. http://www.npr.org/2012/05/27/153604174/first-listen-big-k-r-i-t-live-from-the-underground

…so, you're the only listener who'll be able to hear that it's "less conscious"? Neither of us is engaging in heavy scientific method here, but my guess is that if I can hear the difference instantly on the Ludacris track linked to earlier, quite a few other folks will be able to also. Kinda bizarre that NPR chose this disc for its "First Listen" series…as you've already alluded by saying it's "way less conscious than his previous albums", this almost seems like a misrepresentation of K.R.I.T.'s work. Clearly, he's tired of grindin' it out in the "underground" (aren't we all?) and is hoping for a moneymaker…

i was personally getting tired of krit constantly rapping about struggles. this new album is refreshing to me. not a classic but i was getting tired of his same old content. Krit is a talented hip-hop artist regardless of his "ignorant" choice in subject matter. Im not above enjoying music about being materialistic or other nonsense.

Awesome hip-hop songs posted here.  I listen to probably 85% hip-hop and 15% others.  Favorite hip-hop album for me has to be Nas - Illmatic, very pure.
