There is no volume knob because it hooks directly to my
preamp. There is however plenty of room for a step attenuator.

Trying to find more than 24 step units now that aren't the
size of the entire box.

Finally the colors are right.

Kevin Looks great, What preamp are you using?

Krell of course.

The blue in blue hawaii has nothing to do with the
chassis color. The heat dissipated has nothing to do
with hawaii either.

I was in hawaii on vacation drawing up the schematic
on a placemat at a bar on the beach drinking
"blue hawaii's"

I was really drunk at the time.
(pink floyd line)

The schematic and prototype were both right the first time.

edit: to emphasize the pink floyd line.

It takes a special kind of engineer to spend his trip to Hawaii drunk at a bar drawing circuit designs. I salute you!

although i'd personally like a darker color, it looks like a damn fine amp. please keep us updated with anymore you build and thanks for posting the photos for us.

Its not so much moaning as it is COMMON SENSE prevailing.

I don't see the reason an image should be 5-7 times larger than the average computer monitor.

wow, thats a hell of a big picture... why would you want them that big?

because there are some here ,me included ,that want to see all the details up close and personal and the are a choice to either view or not

for the rest the resized ones are above

but let us focus on the amp here and not the picture size

Everyone sing with me...

Money
(Waters) 6:32

Money, get away.
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay.
Money, it's a gas.
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I'll buy me a football team.

Money, get back.
I'm all right Jack keep your hands off of my stack.
Money, it's a hit.
Don't give me that do goody good ********.
I'm in the high-fidelity first class traveling set
And I think I need a Lear jet.

Money, it's a crime.
Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie.
Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today.
But if you ask for a raise it's no surprise that they're
giving none away.

"HuHuh! I was in the right!"
"Yes, absolutely in the right!"
"I certainly was in the right!"
"You was definitely in the right. That geezer was cruising for a
bruising!"
"Yeah!"
"Why does anyone do anything?"

"I don't know, I was really drunk at the time!" <----------------------------

"I was just telling him, he couldn't get into number 2. He was asking
why he wasn't coming up on freely, after I was yelling and
screaming and telling him why he wasn't coming up on freely.
It came as a heavy blow, but we sorted the matter out"

If you can live with a series attenuator, Percy sells a beautiful 45 step Shallco. It's 2.5" square.

If you want a ladder, then it has to be two single-channel switches, though.

Nice looking rig, Kevin. Massive.
