I'm using a 7AMP/hr SLA as power for my Wadia iTransport and want to add high quality caps to the battery lead terminal in order to see if it will increase dynamics. Ditto for the DAC I'm thinking of purchasing, thus taking both "off the grid".

Suggestions for the proper caps (good quality)? I understand they need to be near the 12V plug end and that ther are some safety concerns.

1. Honestly, I wouldn't bother; IMO power capacitance is of lessened importance with SLAs, and the capacitors inside the unit should be more than adequate.

2. Have you ever used SLAs before? You're almost certainly going to want to use something larger than 7AH, IMO. Unless you only listen for an hour or two at a time, or really like charging batteries often, or want to kill the battery really quickly.

That's just my $0.02, though.
