Hello, i'm about to start building a Pimeta amp, and i was wondering if those 4.50 ea caps on tanget and vishay-dale resistors are really worth it over their cheaper counterparts

They definetly do sound better, but perhaps if you are concerned about price you could get the lower-end versions, i.e. instead of Vishay-Dale get Xicon 1% Metal Film. I got some Xicon 1% Metal Films for a project, they were just a few cents more than generic 10% carbon. I know they weren't as good as Vishay-Dale, but at $0.90 for 10 I was happy.

those 4.5$ caps are wima mks2 capacitors and aren't from the highest quality. Far from that. They're however smaller than most other film caps and very useful in the C4 position as high speed reservoir caps.

also another question, how high can you go with caps, for example chageing the 220uF cap to a 440uF one or higher. Or a 1.5uF cap vs a 6.8uF cap.

how do the power of these caps affect sound and battery performance?
