High-End Earbuds (VE, Blox, SHOZY etc) and Earbud Gear Discussion & Impressions Thread

The production version is even better than the engineering samples that Tom received. Nearly everything was changed slightly after we received the feedback from several people. We are just getting a small shipment to US and will be sending them out for reviews after the noise from CES have subsided.

Thanks. I really hope someone with one (or several) of these BLOX and/or Yuin will be able to listen to the Gramo One --- I'm unable to get my hands on them over here, except for eBay, but I wouldn't be caught dead purchasing earbuds as ugly as the ones from those two brands. I should be able to compare it with the Sennheiser MX985, though, along with the Astrotec Lyra 6 and DUNU Alpha 1. It's really a travesty that the earbud market has dried up so terribly. The Gramo One seems to be the first high-end, hi-fi oriented earbud since the MX985 to actually pay attention to aesthetics.

Do any of these higher end earbud's have a mic?  I don't particularly care for IEM's and and like earbuds for casual listening and taking calls from time to time, but it seems no one makes a nice set that has a mic.

Not sure if there are any of the higher end ones that have a mic.

But the AKG K318 has a mic:  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0054L4B6O

Also the BEB 328RM has one:  http://blueeverblue.com/product_black.html
Make sure to click down to the 328RM version, the regular 328R does not have one.
Also, if you email them, they will most likely give you a $5 discount for mentioning Head-Fi.

EDIT:  Also the Mrice®E100A has a mic:  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O0I36ZO/

It's not like you or anyone else will even be able to see the earbud when you are listening. They are even smaller than headphones. Who cares what they look like? Obviously, the better looking the better, but why would looks be so important that someone shouldn't be "caught dead" with ugly looking earbuds? For reference, I have both the Blox BE5 (looks like ****, sounds amazing) and the MX985 (looks amazing, sounds amazing).

Seems like a rebrand of Dasetn AP8 which is indeed a terrible earbud, the worst ever from Dasetn imho.

Thanks for the recommendation, I went ahead and ordered the BEB's to give them a go, seems like a solid bet for the price and better than apple earbud/mic combo for sure.

Hope they work out for you. Some mixed reviews on them here.

I really enjoyed my pair until I let my nephew try them out. He liked them so much I ended up letting him keep them.

I've been meaning to get myself another pair one of these days.

  Hi!
Anybody can compare AKG K319 with Hisoundaudio Live (more interested) or Living?

I can try to compare from memory, since I have sold my Hisoundaudio Live. Overall, K319 is pretty detailed although a bit light on bass. To me, the K319 has got a sort of "dry sound" that I like. The highs are detailed without being overly sharp.
The Living is closer to the K319 than Live is. I remember my Live being thin and the highs being too sharp. At the same time the Live isn't very detailed. Living is more detailed than the live and while it is a bit sharp in the highs, it feels much more balanced.

If I had to pick between those three, I would pick AKG K319.

But now there are Chinese makers who easily outdo Hisoundaudio. Blox make great sounding earbuds and even the cheaper ones sound very good. Their top end models such as the discontinued TM7 sound amazing with a very detailed and still full sound, almost like a pair of full sized headphones. I like Dasetns earbuds. The cheap Dasetn M1 can easily compete with any of the Hisoundaudio or the AKG earbuds. Dasetn MC5 is like the M1 but much more bassy.
Baldoor/Mrice Earbell E100 is to me one of the best sounding earbuds right now if you look at price/performance ratio. There might be some fit issues for some people, but as for sound the Earbell E100 can compete with the best (not too far from my Blox TM7 or Sennheiser MX980).

In my opinion Hisoundaudio's earbuds are overpriced and other Chinese earbud makers offer better sounding earbuds for $10-$30. AKG K319 is pretty good, but AKG has discontinued it and I have not heard newer AKG models.
