I've had a couple of weeks with the RE-262s now and I love them - they're so detailed and deep - but there's just one thing that's bugging me. Vocalists often sound like they have a lisp - almost like the earphones are actively cutting out the highest frequency in 'S' sounds, and sometimes 'T'.

It's weird, because cymbals are recreated beautifully, so they should do a better job here.

I originally thought maybe it's my source (a Sony Xperia S through a Fiio E6 amp), but A) it does the same thing through my laptop, and B) it only tends to do it on busy tracks - simple acoustic stuff sounds better. This makes me wonder if it's a limitation of the single dynamic driver.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Any tips for improving it? I have some Comply foam tips on the way, using the small double flange for now.

Is this happening on all of your music?

What is your music encoded to?

Throw up a video/youtube, soes we can hear it too.
