Oh no, I don't need a huge selection, but a couple more options would be nice. Perhaps two more pairs and I'd have been quite happy.

but then which two?  what two might work for you may not for others so where do you stop?  i mean its a very sparten bundle, i tihnk probably the least number of tips ive seen come with anything but...... that price.

So I suppose by your reaction I'm being unreasonable by thinking two pairs might be too little given the varying sizes of ear canals, preferences of insertion depths, etc?

Don't most of us who actually appreciate the sound have like a drawer full of spare random tips though?  I was happy not to get more useless silicon tips for my hoard.

I have a sandwich size ziploc bag full of various tips I've accumulated over the years.

well no, i dont think your being unreasonable im just pointing out that if you start adding in things, which the majority of which isnt going to be used becaues most will only ever use one type of tip then it increases the costs.  plus if your saying well, 4 pairs of tips well what makes 4 the magic number rather than the quite common 3 pairs?  this way your not buying thins you wont use, you can buy other tips if you want, or buy a case, if you want and not be forced to pay for them.

After reading this tread, review. I immediately ordered a set. I'll come back and report my impressions, once I give them a good work out. Thanks for the review.

RE-00 has less bass than the 400. Also the RE-00 has much better clarity.

I think the only real complaint I could come up with on the RE-00 was the tip selection was really minimal.  I was hoping there'd be my favorite small biflanges, but no luck.  When the RE-00 arrived, I had already sold off my Ety HF5, which was my previous inexpensive classical IEM I could take with me everywhere, so it fills a slot quite nicely.  All this reminds me, I haven't listened to the RE-00 on my newly picked up V10, so I do believe it's time to give them a go.

I always thought the HF5 pretty good and neutral with a friendly yet informative enough top end, a bit rolled in the bass. What's your take on the differences to the re00?

@goodvibes As  I haven't had the HF5 for a couple of months, I'd worry any comparison I try to do would be off.  But from memory, I feel the lacking of bass the HF5 had for my tastes is better filled by the RE-00.  I want to say the treble is a little further ahead on the HF5, but with the appropriate disclaimer previously mentioned.  Isolation and comfort are certainly higher on the HF5 for me, where price vs performance easily goes to the RE-00.  For me the RE-00 and RE-ZERO are quite close in almost all respects, and my preferences went towards the RE-ZERO vs HF5 which I did have both at the same time.  The HF5 could be a little too analytical and unforgiving, where the RE-ZERO was a little more forgiving and had a slightly more fun signature, but by no means an elevated bass.  I wish I could help more, but memory is too faulty a thing.
