Hifiman HM1000: Worlds first Quad PCM 1704 DAP

I loved how r2r2k sounded with Fw10000, in fact, because of that pairing I bought the r2r2k. I really didn't like how ier-z1r paired with the black prince.

With hm1000, I'm loving the synergy with ier-z1r but don't really enjoy the pairing with jvc fw10000.

HM1000 is a lot more revealing compared to any other dap I tried.

Sadly BT connectivity is not stable, too many drop outs. Hopefully future FW will fix it.

Just saving for re2000 brass, I want to complete Hifiman flagship set up.

Good luck with its fit.

Can you pleeease post some first impressions and also pictures would be great! Did you get the black or gold version? :)

More inline with old hm801, I will take some pictures later tonight, I'm letting the unit aged and burn-in. I'll listen to it more seriously tomorrow.

Buitwise, I like it, but it is a lot bigger than R2R2K. Tonality, the two are very different.

Cool, looking forward very much to your detailed impressions! So you got the black one or the gold one?

Great, thanks for the pics! Wow, it`s a similar size as the NW-WM1A! So I think now I get that you say it`s quite bigger than the R2R2k. Also, design seems a lot more subtle, almost a little "boring" in comparison? Does that glass on the front actually shine through, so you can see the internals (on a picture in the internet it looked like it)?

This device is so expensive....so is your first impression soundwise it can do something cheaper DAPs cannot do?

There is something about r2r sound that I just don't hear it from other day. Closet r2r sound are the Sony daps.
Is it the best sound I've heard, no. I think dmpz1 is better.
I'm still getting used to hm1000, the FW is not finsl, more testing to be done.

Sorry, I am not sure from your post: Are you talking about R2R2000 s sound now or HM1000 (cause I was asking for this one)?

Listening to live recording with HM1000 is an experience that I have never felt before. You literally can hear the space. While HM1000 might not perform well with poor recording, but with live recording, classical recording, Jazz quartet, all things sound right.

Can you describe the sound a bit? So it`s more a kind of treble extended technical type of sound?
