Hifiman is bringing a new dap out.
Good news if so, equally Hifiman needs to get it's SW into the 21st century and be of quality straight out the door.

new release model is HM901R. Is using their own r2r chip with interchangeable amp card.
Is that a stand alone DAP same as the R2R2000 or just an expansion on the current HM series which is heavily dependant on a Smartphone.

is using same hifiman remote like hm1000 to operate.
Thx for the reply. If so No Sale, I'll stick with my R2R2K as my preference is for a standalone player, not a slave to another device....

It's 400 usd with the stock amp.
Nice, however remains to be a slave device of which I have zero interest in. As a long-term expat residing in China I can see the attraction.

I also think the r2r chip they're using was developed in house and not a pcm chip.
Unless it's a stand alone player I'm not remotely interested. I'll stick with the R2R2000 which is a very solid DAP barring 1980's UI.
