kkcc, Can the 901 be charged while playing?

It can. But there were reports of the unit getting very warm so I rather not do that! I tried doing it briefly and it worked. Also it does not have the small hums/buzz sound I got when charging and playing simultaneously with the AK120 (not for all IEMs, mainly on the 334). So I don't do that with either players.

Hi all.
When the 901, comes to Europe?
Are the issues have solved,or we have to wait several months to be sure it is OK?
(I for now,have the 801 brother ).

Nobody knows. It is still not for sale at Head-Direct.com. When it is for sale there, you can order it to Europe, unless HiFiMan has made some exclusive sales-contracts whith your country. When it will be available in European shops (physical) is going to take months, I expect.

I see it in the mp4audio.de shop, from which I have bought the 801,but searching the page,it seems that there is not available, except that I see the price to be 1,240.00€.

Seems to me these would be stocks they purchased from Chinese online retailers and reselling with tax (if they got charged) and margin. At current conversation rate it should be 750€ for the standard amp board version.

I really don't want to take it out of my pocket when I'm out and about.... But I also don't want to go out without it! I can understand the design is heavily compromised for the sound components, but that faux leather is really What!

I just listened to it for maybe three hours straight, killed its battery, continuing on my AK120 and keep feeling unsatisfied. I now want an extra battery and charging dock...

kkcc...

Thought the HM-901 has a battery life rated at 7 to 8 hours (similar to DX100)?
Does pairing with Balanced amp card reduce the usage to just 3 hours?

I routinely got less than 6 hrs with DX100 on 1.2.7. For HM901 (mainly on high gain), standard board I got 9+, and balanced board 6+. Comparatively I got 10+ hrs on AK120. These numbers are mainly paired with TG334.

Wow. The TG334 is quite the battery drinker?

With the JH13, on 1.2.7 and 1.4.2, i get about 7 hrs. What a relief, I guess it may be the same or close to your mileage with HM901.
Can still live with 6+ hrs usage.

Though 10+ hrs would be so much better.

I just submitted a question to stereodesk.com about their pre-order system and I think that the reply maybe of your interest:

Hi Fernando,

Thank You for getting in touch.  So far we have several people in line for the first batch of
901's.  The 901 will be shipping this month, but the docks will not ship until late Fall.
You can order the dock now or later.

Essentially you just buy the HM-901 on our site, and I put your order in cue with HiFiMAN.
Peter Hoagland and Fang Bian were in Boston last night as we had a drink and talked about
HiFiMAN's future.  Fang is a very savvy fellow and I think HifiMAN is going to be even greater in the
future and the future starts with his HM901....and the RE-600 in ears are fantastic.

They'll ship this month too.  I just updated the site to that end.  I hope this helps.  I think we'll have the first
HM901's in the US.

All the best,

Fred

Just pre-ordered...

A couple of questions:

- has anyone successfully tried a 256gb sdxc card with the 901?
- will different amp cards be available at launch?

Yea just skip the stock card. If you won't use it balanced then the Minibox card is also a good choice. It is based upon the same opa627 opamp chips. The stock card really don't do the dual 9018 justice.

For those getting the Minibox card, be careful with the phones you use: Fang said it could FRY those really low-ohm ones (such as the AKG K3003)
