Will have a Hugo to compare but expect the 901 to do well but again, should be interesting.
Look forward to your impressions, Jamato8.

Up here in the snow I use DAPs to keep me warm. :^)
Warranty transferable ?
Since the Chord Hugo is not a self contained DAP, it's a useless brick without a computer hooked up to it. And it only does 48/16 with an iPad or phone.
So it's not directly comparable to the HM -901 or any DAP for that matter.
Since noone talks about it here but it was announced in ERJI..
Your HM-901 warranty is extended 1 more year for free.. All new orders get 2-year warranty instead of one.
Thank you, Dr Fang
The box comes with a warranty card...i think
FYI: HifiMan warranty is useless unless you can provide proof of purchase i.e. PayPal payment transaction form or the original form of payment.invoice.
Does anybody know if Fang upped or will up the warranty to 2 years on the HM-802 as well?
Ppl r saying that ipad/ipod touch u can install onkyo player app and then use cck to connect to hugo, it can play dsd.
If u use win8 tablet like surface pro 2 , u can also install jriver to play dsd too
Its not as portable as the hm-901 ..
DAP that can do native dsd is rare n expensive
Unless I'm reading the specs wrong, Chord mentions "DSD-over-PCM", so it's not native DSD. So the HM-901 is doing the same thing.

The AK240 is supposed to be able to do native DSD, and it's a standalone player that's slightly more expensive than the Chord Hugo.
