How hard is it to take those nuggets off, will it tear the headband at all?Easiest way is the Dekoni Nuggets. Works great for me and has for quite a while.
Or are they on for life?

I think, on for life. The adhesive is very strong. How hard is it to take those nuggets off, will it tear the headband at all?

I tried the Dekoni nuggets, but they were too thick for the headphone to still fit my head with them added, so if you've already got the sides at full extension, beware. What headband mods are easy to replace the stock one? It's just getting worse and worse. It just rests on one small point at the top of my head and its really getting annoying!!
After I called Adorama and the rep I spoke to told me that he is seeing the HE6se as “Discontinued” (Take that with a grain of salt) I got my wife’s ok and bought a used pair. Your flashlight trick is great. I followed just as you described and see no areas where the light is suddenly blocked. Thanks for sharing this!I made a post on what to look for on the other thread based on photos I've seen. I'm not sure why or how it happens but I think it's some kind of manufacturing defect since it either is stuck right out of the box or happens soon after. Maybe incorrect diaphragm tension? I don't know of anyone that has had it stuck after several hundred hours of use, for instance.
I then tried this and it's been fine:

All that being said, when I switch to the HE560, they sound overall fantastic, the bass is still very good, they are lighter, so more comfortable, and they are easier to listen to for long sessions. Again, this is early impressions, so it might change. It just left me thinking the HE6se are great, but I also appreciate the HE560 even more and think they are an incredible bargain if you get the Open Box version off of the Hifiman website (also has grill mod and upgraded cable).

You're referring to the 400i and SE, not the original 400, right? The 560 is along with the 400 is the start of the post 6/500 can era. Easier/Cheaper to mass produce. But the 560 (and they vary) don’t have bass as good as the 500 or 6 SE in timbre, impact, or under much under 50 Hz. No comparison with the 6 screw is possible or allowable re: bass. They also have a mean hot streak in the lower treble and less sense of depth. The v1 I briefly owned was a better can than the Adorama v4 I heard but unit to unit variation has been mentioned frequently, so at least try before you buy. The 400 even the stealth is not a match for the 560 v1. However if you like pre digitital rock/blues the tuning of the 400 suits more people than the 560 and manages to make people think it has bass when it’s actually quite lacking under 70 Hz.
OG 400 is darker than later models due to even more of a sag in the 2-4k area but the bass is actually pumped up mid-bass - a trick from the 1920’s (radios) if not earlierYou're referring to the 400i and SE, not the original 400, right?
If you give the 6 enough power, it is a noticeable improvement over the 6SE in low end impact and dynamics.I’m late to the HE6se scene, and I’ve seen the 6 screw mentioned several times over the past couple of months. Is the 6 screw a substantial improvement over the Adorama v2? Edit: I’m only talking about for sound, not build quality or comfort

I would say the 6SE v2 is a little smoother and the HE6 is more aggressive and raw sounding.OK, let me ask out of curiosity, would you say that 6SE sounds milder and lighter in comparison?
