Which headband in the Hifiman shop fits the HE6SE V2...?

If you send a message to the customer service email listed on the site, you'll get an answer in a day or two. They can also tell you if it's in stock and where it will ship from.

Yep, I'm in touch with them

I don't get why you EQ the he6, without grills and with velour pads, they are for me the best you can get out there. Only the he1000 can contest it, and I still don't know what to keep between them.
The HE-6 SE v2 is smoother than the v1 and OG - but it's not flat - which I'm not after either, but they do sound better with a few corrections. It's not as flat as an HD-600 and I EQ that too. I do not like the Harmon EQ but I take note of it. I try and get the most out of them with their signature intact.

Many people think that the harman curve is set in stone.
I see it differently.
For me it is the starting point, not the end goal.

What's the source you feed neutron? How many 352khz/32bit music files do you actually own?
Source for Neutron?
I do not understand your question.
The neutron player is my source.

I do not have 352khz/32bit files.
As for hi-res audio, I'll go with Monty:

The 358khz/32bit are in the Neutron player by the 8x oversampling, which is useful if you do DSP processing like EQ.

In fact I think we agree on the main points. Anyway, discussion is always good :)
We do :)

I don't know. Nowadays, virtually all music is digitally recorded and digitally mastered, even to do that requires conversions. Music is analog, so digital music is not music, it's an approximation of music. I guess the analogy works somewhat for film cameras vs. digital cameras, but I'm not sure how far we can take the analogy. So this is the first problem, which most people don't consider, is that ADC is involved to convert the music to digital. Digital music production involves all kinds of crazy stuff, EQ, filters etc. By the time we get it on a CD or music file, we're lucky if it sounds like the real thing.
Well, you are right mostly, but digital camera still has an analog source: the light. And the way it captures and stores the data is IMHO very similar to what a DAC (tho I should say an ADC) does. It takes an analog input and coverts it in 0 and 1.
It's very complicated, but even music digitally registered has a lot of analog going, unless it is just an input from a midi keyboard. But that's another story.

I would say more than digital vs film camera, it's like photography vs digital drawing. Of virtual photography.

It's a good DAC, extremely musical, but it's not perfect. It can take time to set up how you want, and the controls are physically difficult to use. It has huge customization capability though. Remember, here the EQ is in firmware. So it's software EQ, but happens in hardware. The nice thing about it is that the EQ happens in the digital domain where it's easier to do crazy stuff that isn't really feasible in analog, and that since it happens in the DAC, all your music players and apps benefit.

The annoyances for me with the RME is that it's very light and does not want to stay in place on a table, and that it has a switching PSU. It's dead silent, I don't worry about PSU influence on the sound quality, but I don't like switching PSUs for other reasons. It's the only piece of gear I have left that uses one.
It seems like a good product, even tho (to come back IT) I will probably look to buy a beefy amplifier, so I can try the HE6!

I'm sorry, I didn't understand the question.
The question was for the user who uses dsp on his phone before the DAC!

Nice, where did you get them? I'm looking for a source in EU.

@kRed
Since you are in Italy you could check Spirit Sound Store, it's an authorized agent for Audio-gd. I have the Master 19, it has enough horsepower for the HE6SE V2. The Master 9 is better yet (lower numbers are high level products with Audio-gd) and the new Master 9P is even stronger. He also has all-in-one DACamps with enough horsepower. Great stuff...

Well we all hear differently but 1903 Hz is upper midrange/lower treble I'd say.

19.5 k? Very few males can hear this freq as well as say 450 Hz. But if you can very nice!

Disagree with adjusting band #4. These guys start getting thick at 80 Hz and have a small hump at 150. So you could decrease at perhaps 130 instead.

Settings 2 & 3 get the lower bass about right. An increase at 21 Hz? So your membrane flaps harder, you can't really hear it and if you listen loud enough your low midrange up could be less clear.

Do you want accuracy or more bass. More bass then forget what I wrote. If not?, experiment a bit.

Does anyone here read the EF400 thread?
As HE6SE owner, worth a look in there...
