The HE-6 SE v2 is smoother than the v1 and OG - but it's not flat - which I'm not after either, but they do sound better with a few corrections. It's not as flat as an HD-600 and I EQ that too. I do not like the Harmon EQ but I take note of it. I try and get the most out of them with their signature intact.I don't get why you EQ the he6, without grills and with velour pads, they are for me the best you can get out there. Only the he1000 can contest it, and I still don't know what to keep between them.
Source for Neutron? What's the source you feed neutron? How many 352khz/32bit music files do you actually own?
We doIn fact I think we agree on the main points. Anyway, discussion is always good
Well, you are right mostly, but digital camera still has an analog source: the light. And the way it captures and stores the data is IMHO very similar to what a DAC (tho I should say an ADC) does. It takes an analog input and coverts it in 0 and 1.I don't know. Nowadays, virtually all music is digitally recorded and digitally mastered, even to do that requires conversions. Music is analog, so digital music is not music, it's an approximation of music. I guess the analogy works somewhat for film cameras vs. digital cameras, but I'm not sure how far we can take the analogy. So this is the first problem, which most people don't consider, is that ADC is involved to convert the music to digital. Digital music production involves all kinds of crazy stuff, EQ, filters etc. By the time we get it on a CD or music file, we're lucky if it sounds like the real thing.
It seems like a good product, even tho (to come back IT) I will probably look to buy a beefy amplifier, so I can try the HE6!It's a good DAC, extremely musical, but it's not perfect. It can take time to set up how you want, and the controls are physically difficult to use. It has huge customization capability though. Remember, here the EQ is in firmware. So it's software EQ, but happens in hardware. The nice thing about it is that the EQ happens in the digital domain where it's easier to do crazy stuff that isn't really feasible in analog, and that since it happens in the DAC, all your music players and apps benefit.
The annoyances for me with the RME is that it's very light and does not want to stay in place on a table, and that it has a switching PSU. It's dead silent, I don't worry about PSU influence on the sound quality, but I don't like switching PSUs for other reasons. It's the only piece of gear I have left that uses one.
The question was for the user who uses dsp on his phone before the DAC!I'm sorry, I didn't understand the question.
Nice, where did you get them? I'm looking for a source in EU.So far the working day is going according to my taste.
The grills are ready.
I made them myself. It is steel, not aluminum.Nice, where did you get them? I'm looking for a source in EU.
