Ye i added +6db to low end and changed pads to dekoni ones. Now its just nearly damn perfect bass area for my ears. Rivals Focal ones. I still got issue thou like most high guitar notes or male vocals at high notes sound ear piercing. Have to turn down volume like 50% on certain tracks. Specially 70s and 80s rock got plenty of these songs.Regarding 1:25 of your "Katniss Afoot" example, I would regard it as a low and not particularly attack-heavy sub-bass thump situated around 50 Hz and below. The Focal Clear MG seems to from measurements under a good seal have better sub-bass extension than I thought (possibly better on average than what has been measured for the Focal Utopia; apparently, some people perceive sub-bass roll-off as "tight bass"). With the HiFiMan pads being so large, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some seal issues on your head causing a loss of sub-bass. Can you listen to that same part of the track while pressing the HiFiMan's cups toward your head a bit? Anyways, since that effect doesn't regard sharp bass transients, I would regard it as something that can be EQed with a simple +5 dB low-shelf filter centered at 100 Hz, though it may be better to address the seal issue first.

Interested in your findings. I hope you will like it! Hekse looks incredible aesthetic wise and the driver design is the most unique one among Hifiman's.So I've just placed my order for the HE1000se plus a silver and black Shangri-La headphone stand for it and the Arya Stealth. I was initially deliberating the slightest possibility that the newer HE1000 Stealth might measure better, but I've already had my heart set on the HE1000se's design. Look forward to some measurements. I will also be getting some Dekoni pads to see if they enable a nicer baseline for EQ.
Which of the 4 types of compatible with he1000se Dekoni pads would you guys have/like/recommend?
Measurement vise they all are pretty close (Elite Sheepskin having the biggest dip in treble vs og pads). Does it only comes down to preference and aesthetics or is there more to it?

Buy 2 fenestrated sheepskin and hybrid ones. Theres only minor changes but i would say hybrid are more comfy ones and skin goes little deeper.Which of the 4 types of compatible with he1000se Dekoni pads would you guys have/like/recommend?

Run it stock till it breaks in. And don’t castrate it by Harman EQing it. Friendly advice.

https://unheardlab.com/2022/05/21/hifiman-arya-stealth-edition-measurement-review-pad-rolling/ presents another source of measurements showing yet a greater subtlety between the Elite Velour and Elite Hybrid pads. The Elite Velour as measured both by Dekoni and this source may be the most likely to smooth out treble peaks without EQ else make them easier to EQ down.Which of the 4 types of compatible with he1000se Dekoni pads would you guys have/like/recommend?

@morpheus69 Meanwhile "testosterone-pumping" my Meze Elites by EQing them to free-field and simulating the crossfeed and head-tracking of perfectly neutral speakers in an anechoic chamber. But I agree that free-field can be a bit of a treble cannon at times. It otherwise makes X9000 and Sennheiser HE-1 ear gain levels (close to Harman) sound a tad dull after you've gotten used to it, its doing great classical recordings a great justice. Strings in real life can be surprisingly bright.

DAPS can drive the HEKSE so not sure why anyone would say the Felix would not drive them in the first place.I just purchased a brand new but sold second hand Felix Euforia and paired it with Hifiman Serenade RRR dac side only , wow this HE1000SE is wild in dynamic, clarity and so fun to listen to am listening to captain hook bungee jump now.

I think the world is a better place when you have tubes in your life. It's now time to buy some NOS tubes and enhance your experience if you are running stock tubes.

completely agree!! The Serenade class A amp is good, clear but it does not gives me the emotional attachment to the music maybe 20% of the time, but with the tubes its almost 60 over percent and on dynamic part 100%.
Same, I completely switched to tube amplifiers as SS amps are not even close to the emotional listening experience you get from tubes. Tubes also give you a more 3D holographic presentation and provide the warmness and thickness in the music.completely agree!! The only downside is having to let them warm up before listening.

Since the introduction of the permanent price drop of the HESKE, I wonder if Hifiman will introduce a new headphone to sit between the Susvara and HEKSE as these headphones have been out for a number of years now.

I'm certainly hoping it will be a radical update to their technology.Since the introduction of the permanent price drop of the HESKE, I wonder if Hifiman will introduce a new headphone to sit between the Susvara and HEKSE as these headphones have been out for a number of years now.
In other news, my HE1000se and all four Dekoni pads will be arriving today. I will be reporting soon with measurements and impressions.
