I have had focus pads for my HE-400's since September of last year.  I use my HE-400's pretty much 7 days a week on my main computer at home.  I have noticed that the synthetic leather is starting to separate from the plastic rings that secure the pads to the headphones.  I am generally borderline OCD about treating everything I own with a great amount of care.  I do not drag the headphones off of or onto my head; I always pull them away from my ears when taking them off or putting them on.  I keep my headphones on a stand when I am not using them.  Basically, they have been babied.  Has anybody else experienced similar problems with their focus pads?  Can anybody recommend the best method to repair them or would I be better off just buying another pair?

They glue the pads together. Worst pads ever. An absolute NEVER buy again.

And since they cost $40 its borderline criminal that they'd sell such an inferior product.

That could easily bump their price by a hundred or so USD.
And I'd gladly pay it. Love the sound of my HE-400s and RE-600s but you may as well budget for new cables for each, their cables are awful. I'd rather just get the quality in one place rather than pay for aftermarket cables or pads.

@Airwolf You got lucky with your pads. I used mine 3 times and the plastic mount completely tore off. I took aftermarket pads off to do an a/b comparison with the stock pads. When I put the focus pads back on it completely tore off when I locked it in.  Worse part is the pads were bought late last year and I only had them for 3 days at that point.

Not the focus+ right? Mine appear to be fairly secure, and were much easier to get on than the stock pads. They're supremely comfortable and I can't find anything wrong with them. The only problem I have now is the stock cable, which is terrible with microphonics. The headphones are outstanding, but the headband is boring and not really padded well, and both the stock cables and pads are annoying.

Are yours glued together ?

And they are insanely comfortable. I really enjoyed the sound too. Just sucked they were designed by a 3rd grader who thought glue would hold.

I have to say, I am genuinely impressed that @TeamHiFiMAN proactively reached out to me to replace the pads.  That is above and beyond my expectations and shows that they have great customer service.

Yeah, no HiFiMAN's customer service is great. That is certainly a big plus. Have only been nice to me whenever I had to deal with them

Another victim...I had my HE-400i for only 1 month.

Credit to Hifiman they did agree to send me a new replacement, but I'm still shocked to see this glued instead of stitched up.
