Hifiman Edition XS Launched

That's exactly how I mounted my strap on my HE6SE V2 and HE560 V4 which have the same headband. I sewed a loop in the end of the leather strap to feed the string through and said string is tied right under the bottom of the slider cap (does not impede the adjustment mechanism). I also sewed a small piece of elastic above to hold it in place and give some adjustability while on the head although that's not 100% necessary. You could also use something non-flexible like velcro cable tie or more string if you wanted. Everything is totally reversible in case of a warranty claim.

Awesome mod @theangelboy 👏👍.

Out of curiosity, do you own the Edition XS? I would be very interested in any comparison you could give between that and the 560v4 if you do.
TIA.

Thanks! I don't own the XS yet. I do plan on getting one eventually.

I didn't catch the 1 week part. Only a few days for me.
Got my confirmation today for both S/N’s. 5 days to get.

I see they were extending the warranty when registering (if you ordered during the Chinese new year) by 6 months. My confirmation email did not state that, so I asked them for clarification on the expiration date of the warranty.

Edit: Hifiman replied and stated that only if you had a delay from your order due to the Chinese New Year they would give an extra 6 months warranty. So since I ordered the last day of the new year (Monday) and it shipped the next day, there was no delay and no warranty extension.

What's the point of registering both serial numbers? If one is for each driver, wouldn't they know it's attached to the same device? This seems bizarre...

I found it odd that there were 2 serials, but that is how they do it. Just listed them both on one registration and got 2 confirmation emails back. I sure as heck ain’t gonna leave one out when they give 2.

That's just the way it be. It was the same back when I got my 400i. Both my cans have sequential s/n, I'm not sure if there's any out there that aren't

Well, I've upgraded to a pair of Arya v2 and the XS have very promptly been retired and sold. Feel free to ask questions in regards to comparisons or whatever else

How much of an improvement would you say the Arya is compared to the XS? I'm really loving my edition XS though. I have v3 arya on my list, but i do see some people favoring the V2.

People are still reaching for v2 for soundstage width and liking the impression of detail from the drier sound, but it seems the updated version winds up being more technically accurate overall despite the soundstage decrease.

It would be a smidge brighter though.

It's difficult to quantify how much better it is. It's very different, the way it places music into its Soundstage is large and holographic where the XS is quite flat and layered. The Arya's timbre is much better with everything sounding lifelike. The only thing I perceived the XS to be better at is bass slam/rumble.

I liken the Arya more so to the Ananda due to large staging and phenomenal details. The XS is more forward and rumbly

Also, if you're happy then don't upgrade. I wasnt happy with the XS, imo it's only good for bassy music which was a small fraction of what I listen to
