ZMF provides lifetime warranty only to an original purchaser. Their warranty is non-transferable. A guy I know said he paid $300 to replace his Atticus driver.
Only Focal (they changed policy recently), Audeze, and MrSpeakers allow warranty transfer as long as you have a receipt.
"The warranty is transferable, provided there is documentation of the original purchase and that the original purchase was not "gray market" through an unauthorized reseller. "
so if you buy from someone on headfi, who bought it from another headfi member but did not ask for the original owner receipt, you are SOL.
most company does not offer transferable warranty. If thats the case then company would not make money from fixing stuff and/or user would just buy off of Head-fi . Sometimes company will let you get away with it depend on how big or popular they are. In the PC world, EVGA would replaced your unit no matter what (if you talk to the right person), AORUS would make you go through hell even if you are the original owner with the receipt. Anyway, I digress.
