Beyer V shape comes from elevated bass and treble. Hifiman V shape is just the scoop around 1.5khz. In fact 3k is quite elevated on Hifiman's. It's not really a v shape. The HFM sound is every-so-slightly v-shaped. If you never heard a v-shaped FR headphone you may not be able to adjust to the HFM signature. That said, compared to really v-shaped headphones, the Arya isn't that pronounced. There's more presence in the midrange than say most Beyerynamics for example.

Yeah you're right, it's not really. It's just notched. It does have elevated treble though.

Looking back at @maxsol comments I can see where he's coming from but now i'm listening to the Arya on the Magni Piety with iFi Gryphon as the DAC and it's mind blowingly fast.
That's good to know that we had something to do with that, thanks

Yeah. Arya Stealth with xBass sounds phenomenal. The Burr Brown DAC chip paired with the Magni Piety adds just enough warmth to make it a bit more fun and punchy. It also helps with the Stealth's dryness. That's good to know that we had something to do with that, thanks

I can imagine what you mean considering Stealth's sound atop Piety's and Gryphon's own warm beefy character. It makes sense, thanks for sharing

I guess I'll add another enthusiastic endorsement for the Arya + iFi Burr Brown combo. In my case, it's Arya SE and Micro iDSD Signature - sometimes with EQ via Roon, occasionally with XBass enabled, but mostly standard tuning. My plan was to get the Arya and Focal Clear to go with my HD-650 and Sundara to have lots of sound signature combos when paired with my Topping DX3 Pro+ and iFi Micro. Since I paired the Arya Stealth with Micro Signature, all that other gear is mostly collecting dust and I never got around to buying the Clear or anything else as a second "higher-end" pair.

I can second that focal clear (the original one) I use the ifi idsd micro signature with it & it sound amazing, I also use the he1000v2 with it & that to is great. I am currently deciding on the arya stealth or the organic but not sure yet. P.s. The fostex hpv1 portable is also an excellent choice for a hybrid tube amp for these headphones & iems.I guess I'll add another enthusiastic endorsement for the Arya + iFi Burr Brown combo. There are different headphones in the same price range: Arya SE, Arya Organic, HE-1000V2, HE-1000V2 Stealth. What's the best for rock, metal and movies? It is very difficult to decide between them. One review says the Organic is better tuned but technically a bit limited in comparison to the Stealth. I also read that it comes with the driver from the HE-1000 Stealth. What's the best choice? Not easy to find differences.
I would not use any of them for metal/rock. Way too bright. Instrumental, acoustic, classical, ambient music... perfect. I got LCD2 for metal/rock and never looked back. They leave my Aryas in the dust when it comes to rock/metal.There are different headphones in the same price range: Arya SE, Arya Organic, HE-1000V2, HE-1000V2 Stealth. Thank you to the two of you, it's much appreciated
