Just a side note: the safe max is 24V. But this unregulated psu you linked will put out more voltage under light load. Personally, i would not use anything unregulated over 16-18V. The stock psu rated for 12V and puts out 16-18V.
Also, if you bypass the internal rail splitter and use a dual psu, theoritically the max you could feed is +/-16V (32V), the capacitors are rated 16V inside(i wouldn't recommend pushing it though). At that voltage, you might have to heatsink the 7806 regulator, and also make sure your opamps can take that much.
I'm quite happy with +/-12V

Wow thanks for shedding more details on the power requirements.

Although, the only reason why i mention the 18V psu is because many people have been saying they experience quite an improvement by upgrading from the standard 12V.

I think coolfungadget now ships these with 15V PSU.

** BTW**

I have a 250 ohms Beyerdynamic 990 DT, so I'll post my feedback after i receive it a week or so from now

Some of the hifidiy versions on ebay that the Aune is based on looks to have speaker outputs instead of RCA outs, would it be possible to retrofit the Aune with speaker-level outputs? (Doesn't need to be pretty

Quietly running a small pair of bookshelfs would be great when my Alessandro M2's or Senn HD280's aren't plugged in.

optical input instead of coaxial and speaker out instead of line-level would be ideal for my purposes but that may take a fair bit of mucking about.

A solution might be their mini amp with very similar look to the AUNE DAC.

Here're some tips to mod the DAC and feed it with a +/- 10V power supply.

Some chips might be fried if you give it +/-16V, such as the LM1117-3.3V.

I can offer the kit of the +/-10V PSU if anyone interested. PM for price.

Call me crazy but I've been tossing around the idea of improving the built in DAC by wiring in AMB's Gamma2 board.

Where's the best place to tap the I2S signal needed by the Gamma2 and where should the output's go?

Yep, you are crazy. Just use the line level output from the y2 and feed it to the aune. The output stage of the y2 is probably different, no point in doing that.

Or use the y2 with a real amp... I think Project86 liked his with the M-Stage a lot.
