HiFi Rose RS150B (DAC & Streamer) vs RS130 (Streamer only)

Have to say I love mine. I’ve had it several months since launch and have been using Roon - not sure how if certification has only just been approved but has worked as an endpoint seamlessly. (UK)

I upgraded from a 250a and with the fibre optics the leap was massive. I primarily use Roon along with my Dave and Mscaler and its sublime
Using which output? Where did you buy it in the UK?

I have the 130 fed with the fibre optic connection which then goes out via optical to my Chord Msacler which in turn then feeds the DAVE using BNC cables. I

I do also have a HDMI cable connected but only for visuals.

I purchased from https://yorkshireav.co.uk/collections/hifi-rose when it was first released and got it within 24hours. Can highly recommend them as also gave me a great P/X on my HIFI Rise 250A

I had a friends Lumin U2 in my systems it’s darn good sounding however it didn’t knock out my current server…I’m interested to borrow the Rose 130 from a dealer he‘s a little funny about home loan components Im working on it ,..My memory of the Rose 150B is very positive I’ve had several front ends , some borrowed some purchased in and around the price of the 130 including one in the 10k retail price that I felt was not worth it ,..

Personally I find it gets really difficult hearing any stand out differences with any well designed streamer server .When I had the Rose 150B the big thrill was the video section for concert‘s we watched a lot of them my wife even joined in .However the snap out of it moment came when I compared one of the popular AudioPhileStyle streamer server recipe's at half the price , it equaled the sound quality of the 150B though the differences were minor.

I hope to have the 130 next week ..

Anyone try the n200 vs the rs130? Or Grimm nu1? One reviewer said he liked the rs130 best but who really knows from videos on review channels - seems crazy the rs130’could beat the mu1

Still loving my RS130. I've recently changed my network setup so now I have a direct fiber connection between my router and my Rose, and the improvement is definitely audible.

It is a great unit. Remember, you can use an external clock too, as I do.

Could not agree more. Fibre is the best way to connect if you can and really does make a difference.

Still loving mine and it gets daily use. Out of interest what are you using for external clock?
