US Spec sheet is up for the 130: https://eng.hifirose.com/RS130

Differences:
150b $4995 USD vs 130 $5250 USD (pending)
150’s Dispay IPS vs 130’s Display TFT 14.9in / 15.4in
150’s CPU = 130’s CPU
150’s GPU = 130’s GPU * T864 / T860
(Mali-T860 is a configurable product which chip manufacturers can size to meet their needs. Mali-T864 is a 4 core Mali-T860. Note that Arm’s official name for this would be “Mali-T860 MP4”, but some chip manufacture datasheets use the short-hand Mali-T864 name)
150’s Memory LPDDR3 @4gb vs 130’s LPDDR4 @4GB
150’s has no cache vs 130’s NVMe SSD 256GB
150’s ethernet standard interface vs 130’s SFP (150 can externally get same feature w/ FMC conversion kit)
150 has no clock input vs 130’s 75/50 clock input (Debatable Feature as most high end DAC’s have external word clock inputs)
150 Voltage controlled femto internal clock vs 130 oven baked clock 0.38 / 0.3 PPM (virtually identical), with these results both clock chips would take 32 years to deviate 1 second
150 Fuse T3.15Al / 250v vs 130’s 6A Thermal Circuit Breaker
150’s Storage Interface:
USB3.0x2, micro SDx1, SSDx1
130’s Storage Interface
USB3.0x2, SATAx1, USB 3.0 Fiber
(No internal storage for the 130 except for the onboard 256gb SSD, I could be wrong as they do reference SATA but no donation to location)

Per the marketing message from Rose the 130 is superior to the 150 due to Fiber isolation for the ethernet signal, USB fiber isolation which reduces noise further, Oven baked clock for increased audio timing / synchronization, linear power supply with high capacity super capacitor and word clock inputs for external master synchronization. I will leave the display features open to your opinion as I view that spec as a downgrade. (I guess this is the value proposition).

The one major issue I have is the discussion on the upgraded Linear Power supply is implying the 150’s LPS is inferior and without super capacitor. The 150B does have a high quality LPS with super capacitor.

I am sure there is more that I missed but these are the obvious ones…

First and foremost, congratulations Bud for making this thread.

The RS130 WAS the type of streamer/DDC I was looking from HiRose. No DACs, no strange I2S connector (DVI, what were they thinking?). Optical Ethernet is a nice addition. WAS interested, because HiRose OS is Android based. You can install your favorite Android player in it(or was how I understood it).

Anyways, cheers! :beerchug:

Thank you. Just to clarify the Android OS is only able to accept Apps directly from HIFI Rose. Very limited.

Can't sideload (install directly from a file)?

Sadly no. 100% closed. But the software on board is very very good. Almost Roon like. You get all the streaming services except Amazon and it is a Roon endpoint. Local music can be played either Roon or using the Hifi Rose software and it is very good.

Completely disagree!
Rose builds good hardware, but their software is a pain.
If you're not a Roon user (as Roon endpoint it's ok), then search for another streamer (Naim, Lumin, ...).

Good points. I don’t disagree.

am looking at the rs130. the fiber inputs and array of outputs is a plus. my other option is the innuos Pulsar, although that only has usb output. have heard some nice things about the Pulsar from friends who have tried it, mainly strong textured low end and big staging. Will play the waiting game for rs130 reviews.

150 has no clock input vs 130’s 75/50 clock input (Debatable Feature as most high end DAC’s have external word clock inputs)
By using a synchronous connection from RS130 to the DAC, the clock of the DAC is not in use anymore. The clock from RS130 takes care of the timing of the DAC.

A clock input on RS130 makes sense if one can afford a better clock than the internal OXCO provided by RS130. But then we talk maybe another 4-6k

word clock inputs for external master synchronization.
No offense, but the clock inputs for RS130 are Master Clock inputs.

Are you upgrading from RS150 to RS130?

Thanks for the info. No I am not upgrading since I already use fiber media conversion for Ethernet and I have a really good DAC with a good onboard clock with option for external.

I said WOW when seing its price. Large shoes to fill, many very good competitors (Rockna, Innuous, Auralic, Aurender etc..), will see..

For the time I had the 150-B long enough for a thorough run in the sound quality is very good using a outboard dac.. I found the option of streaming 4K video including gaming was a real bonus over other streamer / servers . I do have access to the 150-B I sold and have plans to borrow it to put it against AfterDark‘s new server streamer along with an outstanding AudiophileStyle DIY server including a Rockna WaveDream Net . With the HIFI Rose what I didn’t like was the 12 month warranty for such a new component on the market its reliability is unproven I sold it because of that .
I’d certainly like to check out the 130 someday sure 5k is a lot of money though I think you get what you pay for most of the time .

Finally this hobby can be a lot of fun experiencing all it has to offer though one outstanding aspect for me is you know your system is evolving when everything you listen to clearly doesn’t sound that it was all mixed in the same recording studio , the 150-B can help with that.
