As much as I want to deny burn in, it does feel different than the first time I heard it.
*I'm pretty sure it surpassed 175hrs now

It is still weird, but I can enjoy it now.

Also, I just found out that this IEM sounds much much better on low gain.
Of course because it is very sensitive and gets loud very fast.
It also needs a dead silent backround and source output impedance <o.5Ω.

Yeah, but i tried low gain before and it is nothing special, compared to high gain which feels more vibrant, more alive.

I tried low gain once more and it feels more balanced, the bass sits nicely while the treble is not as aggressive.
I prefer low gain now.

I'm pretty sure my oldie Shanling M3s have low enough impedance, unfortunately I don't have any other sources to try.

The pricing looks reasonable somehow.

Anybody tried changing the cable to balanced one?
Any feedback?

I am torn between reterminate the stock cable to balanced jack so the sound won't change that much, or just buy a new one.

The MS5 is very easy to drive, and a balanced source with more power doesn't give much benefits, IMHO.

I am using it with the Hidizs balanced cable.
While the MS5 is very easy to drive, if you have a good - inherently balanced - source then it is worth investing because the MS5 scales quite well.

I do worry it might cause hiss if the power is too big.
It is what happened to my Xelento, though better SQ.

Exactly my thought.
Any differences between the balance cable and the stock one?
