I’m in agreement with the expectation for a manual - be it hard copy or downloadable. If you are charging close to $2k for an electronic device with many functions and configurations, and spending the tens of thousands on R&D, manufacturing, packaging and marketing, you can spend the few hundred dollars one off for a professional translation.

Meaning no disrespect to HiBy but have you seen the basic grammar errors in the UI when performing certain functions, and you want a full user manual translated into multiple languages?
Personally if you know how to use an Android phone you should not need a user manual for a DAP, even one with as many cool features as the R8. Just my opinion, not saying it wouldn't be useful for others.
Sometimes people need to know troubleshooting steps e.g. how to do a hard reset, which buttons to push simultaneously or in which sequence etc. I myself am not really familiar with Android since I’m an iOS user, so it will be helpful to have the manual.
Fair enough. I usually find answers are much quicker and more direct when I jump on this thread and ask. A manual is definitely useful, though I'd rather it be electronic in PDF format than paper.Sometimes people need to know troubleshooting steps e.g. how to do a hard reset, which buttons to push simultaneously or in which sequence etc. I myself am not really familiar with Android since I’m an iOS user, so it will be helpful to have the manual.
I agree. I downloaded the manual for the iBasso DX220 and it came in very handy. While most folks could probable find their way around Android, the issue is the additional settings and features that HiBy added to the operating system. The audio settings, MSEB, and some of the HiBy player settings have been changed, moved, or modified. HiBy could provide some detail on changes and what effect some of the settings can have. I had to discover a couple of things "the hard way" which would definitely turn off most users.Fair enough. I usually find answers are much quicker and more direct when I jump on this thread and ask. It turned me off big time. Lack of information had me hook it up to my desk top improperly and trash a 2500 DAC. Any Hiby factory reps on this web site. Any help from Hiby for their customers? My first and last Hiby purchase.

BTW how I avoid this battery depletion is to use the Idle Battery option, I just let Hiby Sleep or turn off after an hour of no use! Next time I turn it on, the battery is where I left it last time!

Just got my R8 back from Hiby after repairing the volume knob. Now it’s extremely stiff to turn and no clicks. Still, I’ll live with that.Nope, that one is not dignis R6 2020 case. Stock Hiby case with a velcro tap on the left, Dignis on the right, for R8 below. I did receive Hiby R6 2020 case, but I'm not 100% sure if it will be stock or optional. Sometimes, Musicteck offers a free case during new product launch, so you might have to find out from them.

What I can’t live with is when I put my new R8 leather case (HiBy’s own case) on the newly repaired R8, the Velcro immediately came away(see pics). This is appallingly shoddy and I’m afraid tends to sum up what I think of Hiby and their quality control. I’ve emailed them with the pics and I’m expecting them to send another one immediately.

I know. Tell me about it. The irony is I still think it’s an extremely good player. My ears are telling me it doesn’t sound the same as when it left me 6 weeks ago. But I think that’s because I’ve been using my N6ii while it’s been gone, so need to re-adjust.Yikes, you really have had back luck with your R8![]()

I forgot, are you in US or outside? Cause in US you just have to deal with Musicteck, don't even need to contact Hiby.

I’m in the UK but I bought the R8 from Musicteck. I’m assuming that should anything go wrong with the goods I would contact Musicteck in the first instance as they are the dealer I purchased the R8 from.I forgot, are you in US or outside? It can't hurt to reach out to them first. Musicteck is known for good customer service, plus it probably cheaper to ship the unit to them than to HiBy.I’m in the UK but I bought the R8 from Musicteck. That’s good to know for the future. Except I guess that would mean sending anything back to Hong Kong via the US. Then there’s the customs duties and VAT nonsense to deal with as well. But it’s obviously been a good solution in your case. Sounds like you would recommend it overall.I’m in the UK but I bought the R8 from Musicteck.
